Southampton vs. Leicester City

Thursday January 01, 1970

Back Leicester City in the head-to-head at 2.36 (Betfair)
Back Leicester City +0 (draw no bet) at 1.70 (Betfair)
Back Leicester City +0.5 at 1.42 (Betfair)
Southampton haven’t won at home since the 13th of April. This season they’ve gone 0-1-3 at St Mary’s Stadium and their last two home fixtures have seen them lose by a combined 7 goals to 2. Leicester City won this fixture in each of the last two seasons and over the last 12 months they have gone 4-1-0 as the away favourite.

Thursday January 01, 1970

Watford vs. Bournemouth

Back Watford +0.5 at 1.40 (Betfair)
With a 0-4-5 record Watford remain at the foot of the table but their recent performances suggest their first win is not far off. They had the better of the chances in a 0-0 draw with Sheffield United in Gameweek 8 and were unlucky not to have beaten Tottenham in their 1-1 away draw last week. Bournemouth have gone 3-1-11 as the away underdog over the last 12 months and they have only beaten Watford once in eight meetings since promotion.

Newcastle vs. Wolverhampton

Back Under 2.5 goals at 1.57 (Unibet)
In recent weeks Steve Bruce has made Newcastle a tough nut to crack, with their last two opponents in Man Utd and Chelsea combining for just 1 goal against them. At the same time Newcastle are ranked 19th in offence this season. Newcastle’s last four home games have gone under 2.5 goals while eight of Wolverhampton’s last ten have gone under, including the last four.

Liverpool vs. Tottenham

Back Liverpool in the head-to-head at 1.50 (bet365, Unibet) – BEST BET
Liverpool have gone 17-1-0 at home over the last 12 months and they have won their last 11 straight at Anfield. Tottenham have gone 0-2-3 as the away underdog over the last 12 months and Liverpool did the double over them last season. With a 3-3-3 record, Tottenham have been far weaker this campaign. The distractions of player transfers during the off-season have been unsettling and it’s showing in the results. Their last two away fixtures saw the Spurs lose 2-1 to Leicester City and 3-0 to Brighton. Last week Tottenham were fortunate to escape with a 1-1 home win over Watford, who are currently at the foot of the table.
